Update: Mercy Ships Trip. My girlfriend Kristin has been in Liberia, in West Africa for the past 5 months. I went to visit her midway through her six month commitment. While there I got to play for the President of Liberia, Ellen Sirleaf Johnson (!), and I wrote a song based on the words of long time Mercy Shipper Larry Mast, about the departure of the ship Anastasis.

My trip to Liberia to visit Kristin was like a homecoming. I found myself happy there, full of life and meaning and purpose, and able to believe in God and to serve him in the day to day existence. I met incredible Christians from all over the world, people from diverse backgrounds who put their differences aside in order to serve their God by giving themselves to help restore humanity through actions of love and through God's own compassionate love and powerful ability to restore completely broken people. And I met some amazing Liberians of very strong faith and humble stature, people who I want to stay in touch with. I hope to return to Liberia and help participate in the rebuilding of that amazing nation of people who have recently struggled through such a hard time of civil war and destruction.
